Acton 14+ Youth Club was set up after carrying out extensive detached work in the area. During this detached work many young people, who were too old to attend the 8-13 club, stated that a club for the older generation would really benefit them.
After working in partnership with the local council we began running a club specifically for 14+ young people. The club runs at an earlier time on a Wednesday, 16.30 to 18.30, and it aims to be a place where young people can relax, listen to music, get a hot drink, do some cook and eat sessions, and even do some school work if they need support or an area for group work. We also have the PlayStation 4, and we also aim to include issue based sessions relating to issues that the young people may be experiencing at home or at school. As always, as this is an open access service, participation in any sessions is entirely voluntary 🙂
Please come down and have a chat with Julie and Niall, and let them know what you would like to see in the club. If there is genuine interest in an idea for a session or for a trip, we can work on getting it done for you!
